Completed his Ph. D. in Dec. 2004 -- giving a departmental colloquium entitled
"Electronic surface states -- a theoretical and experimental perspective" --
currently working at Targacept where he
is developing computational tools useful for the pharmaceutical industry.
Professor Alan Tackett -- Completed his Ph. D. in May 1998. His thesis was
entitled "Spacial implementation of the projector augmented wave method for
electron structure calculations", under the direction of G. E. Matthews and
N. A. W. Holzwarth -- currently Research Assistant Professor and Technical
Director of ACCRE (Advanced Computing Center for Research and Education)
at Vanderbilt University.
