Two Wake Forest students named Goldwater Scholars

Wake Forest junior Elena Singer-Freeman and sophomore Cassandra Hung have been named 2024 Barry M. Goldwater Scholars. The two are among 438 college students from across the U.S. to receive the award for the 2024-25 academic year. Award winners are selected based on academic merit from a pool of more than 5,000 sophomores and juniors studying natural sciences, mathematics and engineering.

Face to Face Speaker Forum announces 2024-25 lineup

Wake Forest's Face to Face Speaker Forum invites world-renowned, influential voices to discuss a variety of topics including politics, arts and culture, and business and innovation. The 2024-25 season will feature Peyton Manning, Anderson Cooper, Jesmyn Ward, David Brooks and John Legend.

Eleven Wake Forest graduates will be returning to their alma mater as Wake Forest Fellows. They will work throughout the campus community, including in the offices of the President, the Provost and the Dean of the College.

Since 2008, the Wake Forest Fellows program has provided exceptional Wake Forest College graduates with the opportunity to work in higher education administration for a year. Each fellow is serving as a full-time Wake Forest staff member, starting July 1. In addition to working with top administrators, the fellows will participate in leadership activities and interact with faculty, staff and students to learn about the inner workings of higher education.

You may not know his name, but we promise you know his work. And for the last 27 years, he's shown us the soul of a university and her culture through his eyes, mind and lens.
