- The Choice -

That moment when knowing what’s right becomes doing what’s right. And choosing to do the right thing seems like no choice at all.

Julie Coyne (’89) discovered a shared commitment to social justice in her Women’s Studies professors at Wake Forest. When she first encountered the impoverished living conditions of school-aged children in rural Guatemala in 1994, anger at the unfairness was quickly replaced by a resolve to make their world a better place. Nearly 25 years later, Julie’s “Education and Hope” has blossomed into a community campaign to nourish the minds, bodies and souls of children who came from so little.
