Our Winston-Salem, N.C., campus is home to an academic community of almost 9,000 students, with more studying at Wake Forest locations in Charlotte, Washington, D.C., and around the world. A strong undergraduate liberal arts curriculum inspires a holistic approach to preparing graduate and professional school students. We graduate leaders with integrity and courage who use their personal and professional success to make an impact on society.
Wake Forest will partner with two other universities to support the work of the Peruvian National Park Service by connecting scientists with park managers and policy makers. The work is funded by a $2.5 million grant from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation.
Wake Forest economist Erik Nesson investigated the hot hand phenomenon using statistics from NBA 3-point shooting contests from 1986 through 2019. Nesson and co-researcher Robert Lantis of Indiana University found that hot hand exists, but only for shots taken from the same location.
A conversation with ‘Mr. Wake Forest,’ Ed Wilson (’43, P ’91, ’93), and longtime psychology professor Debbie Best (’70, MA ’72). Wilson has spent his entire life at Wake Forest, except for a stint in the Navy and graduate school at Harvard. Best came to Wake Forest as a student in 1966 and never left.

Debbie Allen is our inaugural Maya Angelou Artist-In-Residence Award recipient. The award honors world-renowned artists who reflect Maya Angelou’s passions for creating, performing and teaching and celebrates exceptional artists for combining achievement in the arts and a commitment to improving the human condition.
Angelou was Reynolds Professor of American Studies at Wake Forest from 1982 to 2014. #WakeTheArts
