Diversity
For those who have seen the Earth from space, and for the hundreds and perhaps thousands more who will, the experience most certainly changes your perspective. The things that we share in our world are far more valuable than those which divide us. -Donald Williams
In the world we live in today I know that I will be teaching in not only a culturally diverse classroom of learners, but also a diverse learning community with students who have varying needs and ways of learning. To create a respectful learning environment I will strive to create a classroom that is inviting, supportive, and inclusive of all students. I will treat all students as equal individuals and embrace diversity in my classroom and in the school community. I will also cater to each student's special needs and adapt the way I teach to accomodate these needs. I believe that the home lives and families are important in each child's education and I will work collaboratively with each student and their family.
