I will graduate from Wake Forest University in the spring of 2010 and will have received a comprehensive and quality education that has already begun to enable me to feel confident in my ability to be an elementary school teacher.I will use the standards provided in the North Carolina Standard Course of Study to explore each content area and teach the information and skills it sets up in an organized manner. Through my many education classes with professors who are experts in the education field I have learned and accepted the great importance of the strong connections between each core subject and plan to make my instruction as interconnected as possible. I also know the importance of making information and knowledge relatable to the lives of students in the 21st century and will work hard to make knowledge relevant to my student's lives.
As a part of my methodology classes this spring at Wake Forest I have been working on sample lesson plans. Please click here to view a sample Social Studies and reading lesson plan.
