A cat friendly bookshelf

I decided to build a cat-friendly book shelf.
Here is the original drawing. I did not follow it very closely. The original design called for lighting and a water feature. However, the lights I wanted to use would have been too bright. And the water feature, well, I will save that till next time.
Here is a picture of the almost finished project. This is not the final resting place for the piece. It is currently tied to a post to keep the cat from turning it over. It will be anchored to the wall when put in its final place.
Carpet will be put on the diagonal pieces. I have not attached the carpet yet and the cat is already climbing the post.
