CHM111L - Experiment 7: 10/19/09 - 10/23/09

Freezing Point Depression

Instructions: [Each student needs to enter the data for the group.] Enter the identity of the solvent acid you used, either Stearic, Lauric, or possibly Myristic. Then enter the concentration data and freezing temperatures for your two solutions.

Include any comments others should be aware of (usually none).

In addition to the tables and plots from your own data, your write-up should include a plot of the class results for Tf vs mole fraction (you can draw a line through the data by hand if your EXCEL creativity is stretched too far) and a plot of ΔTf vs molality for your solvent acid showing the kf. This last plot can include class data. Feel free to discard outliers.
