I'm currently writing text for the show Inmixing: Intermedia and Extradimensional Space which will open at White Box in Soho, NYC, in December.
In September I spoke at Brock University, Canada, on Derrida's lectures on the Eucharist. And in November I will attend the Modern Studies Association Conference in Montreal where I will give a paper on Albert Ayler. In December, I will be in NYC for the White Box exhibition and will attend MLA in Philadelphia at the end of the month.
Last May I was researching Derrida's seminars of the late 1980s, which are archived at UC Irvine; I lectured to members of the Department of Comparative Literature at UCI on Milton's shorter poetry. I also attended the small Heidegger conference put on by the Philosophy Department on retranslating Heidegger's writings of the late 1930s.
Recent publications: "A Liquid Hand Blossoms" in Boundary 2, a special issue on contemporary American poetry edited by Charles Bernstein. "Dead Zones: Isolated in Beauty" appeared in the monograph Topographien der Erinnerung, ed. Bernd Witte (Wuzburg: Konigshausen & Neumann Verlag, 2008). This was published under the auspice of the Internationale Walter Benjamin Gesellschaft. "Four Types of Empathy" appeared in Comparative Approaches to European and Nordic Modernisms, ed. Janna Kantola, et al. (Helsinki, University of Helsinki Press, 2008). "Restoration Politics" appeared in the Future of the Humanities issue of Oxford Literary Review (Sping 2008). And Deregionalizing Ontology" appeared in 2008 in the new journal entitled Derrida Today (Univ. of Edinburgh).
I noticed only recently that an essay, "Anti-City," appeared in Intermedia: Enacting the Liminal in the series Dortmunder Schriften zur Kunst, bd I, 2006. Also included are proposals and letters by me concerning intermedia work done at the University of Iowa, including the tv performance "Boxed In," whose script I wrote and subsequently lost (w/ Hans Breder, Lucio Pozzi). Klaus-Peter Busse, editor.
A piece on the Cuban artist Ana Mendieta's love letters will be published by Gallerie Hachmeister in Germany for a catalogue.
