Pedagogy

"Teachers know the ways learning takes place, use a variety of methods, are expert communicators, have strong technology skills, plan instruction that is appropriate, use a variety of tools, teach critical thinking and problem solving skills, help students develop skills of teamwork, leadership, and cooperation, and instill a love of learning."

- The Emerging Teacher Leader Conceptual Framework

As a teacher, I recognize that my students all learn differently and will plan instruction accordingly. Through observation, I will discern the ways my students think and learn and will use that knowledge to adapt my curriculum and enhance learning. By monitoring my students, I will be open to making changes in the lesson plans to meet the needs of my students and to narrow the achievement gap as much as possible.
I will also work alongside colleagues and use various sources to enrich instruction in my classroom.

Living in the 21st century, has given us the great advantage of technology. As a teacher, my learning never stops, I will continue my studies and will stay updated with any advancement in technology and use them appropriately in the classroom to engage and teach my students. With the help of technology, I will encourage my students to think critically and innovatively, analyze, and solve problems. I will have my students work in teams, as well as individually, to enhance social and communication skills and promote selfless and leadership values.

By challenging my students with various methods of assessment, I will be able to identify the strengths and weaknesses of every individual and progress their growth.
