This course considers the interplay of law and modern
valuation techniques. As you'll discover, legal policy
drives the process -- that is, the perceived purpose
of the valuation generally dictates the methodology.
Besides looking to policy, a principal purpose for
the course is to bridge the JD-MBA cultural gap. JD
students should become familiar with financial valuation
techniques, as well as rudimentary spreadsheet use.
MBA students should become familiar with legal case
and policy analysis, as well as rudimentary legal research.
As you read on, you'll notice that I anticipate this
will be a collaborative learning experience.
For the first class, please read the overview and syllabus,
as well as the first reading assignments.
