All good teachers take time to reflect on their instruction. I believe reflection should always be taking place in the classroom. Teachers can immediately reflect on the day's lesson, or reflect throughout the year on the effectiveness of management in the classroom. Reflection is about thinking of ways to improve yourself and your instruction and how you can help your students achieve even more. Data and analysis can often help teachers reflect and help them see if they truly are getting their message across to the entire class as long as the data is accurate and current.
As teachers reflect on their own teaching, they should search for new ways to improve their instruction. They should be eager to continue their professional development and learn even more about the education profession. This process of reflection is vital for any teacher who wants to continue growing as a professional and who wants to give their students the best education possible.
