Teachers must not only know what they are teaching, but also the best way to teach it. Instruction requires variety in order to be meaningful to students. Teachers should make an effort to use technology, manipulatives, arts and so much more whenever they teach. When students are learning via a hands-on approach, they are developing useful critical-thinking skills. Teaching is not only about the content, however. Students must also learn teamwork and communication skills in order to be successful citizens. Teachers should give students the opportunity to work in all types of groups and pairs to emphasize cooperation.
When teachers are enthusiastic and passionate about their work, students will be excited about learning as well. Classrooms should have a strong sense of community where students feel comfortable and willing to take risks in order to advance their learning. Innovation should be encouraged and every tool accessible by the teacher should be provided in the classroom for student-motivated learning. When teachers are in sync with their student's ideas and questions, the each lesson is becomes an unrestricted opportunity for learning.
