Diversity is a wonderful thing in a classroom. Each child has their own learning style, reading ability, background, and so much more. I believe a teacher must embrace the diversity in her classroom and use it to its full potential. Diversity within the classroom should be celebrated and diversity outside of the classroom should be explored and discussed. Teachers should make a point to highlight successful diverse individuals in each subject area they teach.
Diversity also incorporates learning ability. I am a strong believer in presenting information in multiple formats when available in order to accommodate as many types of learners as possible. Today's technology gives us so many options for audio, visual, and kinesthetic activities that all students should experience different ways of learning in the classroom, regardless of if they fit a certain learning style or not.
