Caring

Teachers enjoy spending time in the company of children and young adults, learn about each of their students, maintain the dignity of each student, and express pride in their students’ accomplishments

-Wake Forest University's Conceptual Framework

Being a good teacher requires a lot more than just book smarts. Caring is an integral and vital aspect of any successful classroom. As a teacher it is important to create an environment where students feel free to express their thoughts, wants, desires and questions without negative repercussions. In my classroom I will create a climate that encourages, supports and nurtures each student.  The best environment for student learning is a classroom where the teacher genuinely cares for the students, is willing to connect and spend time with them.  I believe that taking time to get to know my students on a personal level will help improve classroom moral and their overall wellbeing and success

Here is a letter I sent home to parents during my student teaching
