Transfer credit procedure

Physics 113 and 114

Nearly all requests to transfer physics credits are for Physics 113-114. Physics 113 and 114 are a two-semester introduction to physics, and are the courses of choice for both prospective scientists and pre-meds. Calculus is a corequisite for 113 and a prerequisite for 114. Calculus is used throughout each course. I will approve ELECTIVE transfer credit from reputable four-year colleges and universities if

• The course description is a reasonably close match to that in our own bulletin.
• The course description specifies that calculus is a prerequisite for the course.

You do not need to see me if the course fulfills these conditions. You can leave the request from from the registrar in my box along with the appropriate course description and an addressed return envelope. Here is a check list:

• __I have included a summer school credit transfer form from the registrar's office.
• __The course number and credits from the other school have been entered in this form.
• __I have included an addressed return envelope. (On campus mail does not need a stamp.)
• __I have included a copy of the course description from the other school's catalog.
• __The course description of the course to be transferred specifies a calculus corequisite.
• __I am seeking elective credit only, not divisional credit.
