"Teaching is the profession that teaches all the other professions. "
Welcome to my site! I'm Mary Kate Lyons a junior Elementary Education major at Wake Forest University in North Carolina. I was raised in Westchester County, New York and spent a semester abroad in Beijing, China. While I love Wake Forest and North Carolina, I plan to return to the Northeast after graduation to pursue teaching there. As an education major, I am working towards my goal of becoming a teacher who uses all kinds of technology in the classroom and prepares her students for the challenges facing our world.
This site is intended for other future teachers, administrators, parents, and anyone else who is interested in learning more about teaching. This site is also a representation of my views on teaching which is based on the conceptual framework that the Wake Forest Univeristy Education Department uses when instructing future teachers. On this site you will find lesson plans, resources, and my thoughts on teaching. I hope these are helpful for you. I have had wonderful experiences observing in the Winston-Salem Forsyth County School district in Kindergarten and Third Grade. I will continue to update this site as I continue working towards my goal.
