Objectives:

  1. To increase understanding of the role of argument in society.  The creative, regulative, and normative functions of argument will be considered.
  2. To foster a healthy skepticism about living in a "second-hand" world and develop criteria for evaluation of arguments.
  3. To develop competency in verbal and written presentation and of argument in the public sphere.
    To enjoy the process.
