Please feel free to explore my website. It was originally designed as a technology project at Wake Forest during my junior year, but I have enjoyed updating it since then. Here you will find lesson plans, rubrics, projects, and assignments I have made, along with my thoughts on important aspects of education.

My Thoughts on Pedagogy...

According to the North Carolina Professional Teaching Standards, teachers are expected to know the way students learn, make lesson plans accordingly, vary their teaching strategies, integrate the material, develop critical thinking, encourage students to work well together and communicate, and assess students effectively.  I will use a variety of methods to help students become engaged in what they are learning.   Technology will also be a very prevalent in my classroom as I use multimedia resources such as the internet, SmartBoard, PowerPoint, and video to help students become better citizens by encouraging creativity, engaging students in global awareness, and preparing them for the technology-based future.

Please feel free to view a few of the activities and lesson plans I have designed:

4th/ 5th grade Social Studies Lesson and accompanying information sheet. This lesson was designed for an academically gifted social studies class who is studying the Columbian Exchange.
5th grade Science Lesson, accompanying activity sheet, and group evaluation. This lesson was designed for a 5th grade class studying forces, motion, and friction. It explores friction by way of the Olympics.
Structured Web Activity, activity sheet, and grading rubric. This activity was designed for a 5th grade class just beginning to study US Geography.
