According to the North Carolina Professional Teaching Standards, teachers are expected to lead in the classroom, lead in the school, advocate for both the students and the school, and exemplify the highest ethical standards.  This specifically means that teachers are to take responsibility to empower and motivate students to ensure that their students graduate from high school and are prepared for the future. It is also the teacher's responsibility to collaborate with other teaching professionals. I plan to show leadership in my classroom by setting a good example for my students by both my words and actions in the way that I present myself.  I will do my best to represent the teaching profession, my school, and myself in a positive and meaningful way through participating in committees, leading school-wide activities, and communicating effectively and proefessionally with my students’ parents and the school community.
