Teachers analyze their teaching, collaborate with colleagues, use research in their classrooms, and continue to grow professionally.
- Wake Forest University's Department of Education conceptual framework

I personally believe reflective practice means introspection on my teaching in order to evaluate the effectiveness of my methods on student learning. I must analyze the learning taking place in my classroom and always strive for improvement both in student performance and in my teaching. In accordance with the NCPTS, professional development remains a continual process in which I stay up to date with teaching strategies and technology to meet the needs of my students. Teachers are expected to function effectively in the ever changing 21st century environment. I will do this by always investigating ways in which to improve teaching and learning according to the latest research.
