PHY 109 Astronomy

My PHY 109 labs meet on Olin Lab's roof (weather permitting) or in Room 105 on MTW. The links section, if I can get enough advance free time to do so, will contain links related to the lab material for the week.

Click here for images from the astrophotography lab. Please contact me if you do not wish to have your image/name displayed.

The decision about indoor/outdoor labs will be made within fifteen minutes of the start of class, so always bring your computer and all appropriate sets of lab instructions.

Official course webpage

WIKISKY, a website with a very good traditional map, along with infrared, visible and x-ray images of the sky. Try the beta version of Sky Browser 2, which has a neat interface but is just a little buggy, at least on FireFox (as is expected of a beta version). Thanks to Tania for finding this site.

Local sky
