DIVERSITY

As a teacher, it is my responsibility to create and maintain a nurturing environment in the classroom, where all students feel comfortable and cared about. Having been raised in a muticultural family, I appreciate the diversity that exists amongst human beings and will transmit that in my classroom hoping that my students gain that appreciation as well. In my classroom I will incorporate the history and contributions of many different cultures and take into consideration the differences of each student, recognizing different points of view and encouraging open mindedness and learning from one another. I recognize that every student is different and will enforce respect for every individual in my classroom, therefore establishing positive and appropriate relationships between students and myself. I guarantee, as a responsible and caring leader, to collaborate with families, specialists and anyone else in order to meet the special needs for any of my students. I realize that educating children is a process that involves more than just myself and will work my hardest keep parents and the community involved so that we can work together to assure students the best education possible. It is my goal to create a comfortable, loving, respectful, honest and educational environment for your children and I assure you, your children are in good hands!
