SHOPtalk

Jointly sponsored by the History Departments at University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Elon University, High Point University and Wake Forest University, SHOPtalk is a working group for historians, advanced graduate students, and other scholars interested in the study of the American South.  SHOPtalk meetings are held several times a year at Wake Forest, UNCG, Elon, High Point and other locations.  We usually gather to discuss a paper on some aspect of the history of the South; time periods and specific topics addressed vary. Copies of each paper for the paper presentation sessions are distributed via email well in advance of the meeting in order to allow the time together to be used most productively for discussion. For a list of papers presented at previous SHOPtalk meetings, click here. For further information, or to add your name to the SHOPtalk mailing list, you may contact either name below. Also, please contact us if you would like to present a paper.
