Teachers have a broad knowledge, know the content appropriate to their speciality, understand the ways their teaching area connects to the broad curriculum, and know revelant applications of the content they teach

- Wake Forest University Conceptual Framework

In order for me to succeed as a teacher I will know the content in which I teach while aligning my lessons with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study (NCSCOS). Testing has become such a huge part of education and in order for my students to succeed they must be developing skills surrounding these goals and objectives. Through the use of my creativity I will be able to successfully develop strategies for individual students to make the curriculum rigorous, yet interesting and engaging for all types of learners. I believe integrating subjects is important for developing well rounded students and I will do this through following the NCSCOS objectives from different subject areas. I will also incorporate life skills such as leadership, accountability, ethics, social skills, and personal responsibility through my lessons. My main goal is not only to have my student’s literate in all areas, but for them to be globally aware of the 21st century world around them.
