The IsoSeries is the first adventure race series in the Piedmont-Triad open to the community in recent memory. The Triad has got great rivers to paddle, some serious back road hills to bust your quads pedaling, and hidden gems of backcountry trekking areas. Our first race will be taking full advantage of the land for 12 hours of trail-losing, checkpoint finding fun.

The results are now posted! Check up on how you did. Special congrats to
those teams who made this their first race. It was a tough one to cut your teeth on. The checkpoints are also listed if you want to plot them against google maps, etc. Pictures are now up too!

We'd like to thank all of the racers that came out for the first IsoSeries race. We hope everyone felt
challenged and had a great day in the woods. Our volunteers were great, and we can't thank them enough.
We will have some race pictures and the results up soon. If you would like to send a race review, please email us.
We'd love the feedback so we can make the next race even better.
About the region
The IsoSeries is taking place in the beautiful Yadkin River Valley. The river itself is one of the longest in North Carolina, flowing from the Blue Ridge Mountains to High Rock Lake where it becomes the Pee-Dee River. The area is known for its rolling hills of farmland and picturesque views of Pilot Mountain. It is quickly becoming a well-known Viniculture area as well, with many wineries spread throughout the valley, a few within a couple miles of the race course.4/21/08
With a little less than a month before the race, we have our registrations starting to roll in. We know we
have a great course, and we want to make sure that we have great competition for everyone involved, so
sign up soon so you can gauge your competition!!
Also, due to the amount of time it takes to make t-shirts, if you register after May 7th, we can't guarantee
a t-shirt for you.

We are allowing kayaks in this race, we are sorry for the confusion. The boat outfitter for the race only has canoes, but if you have your own canoe or kayak, you are more than welcome to bring it (providing it doesn't have a motor, of course)

In order to answer questions better, we've added a FAQ page on the details section of this site
After paddling the paddling section again, the race directors have challenged the rating books, and say that the river is a 1-1+ river. It has a lot of fun moving water, but is completely doable in any boat

We've had a lot of interest in the race lately, which is great! We will be putting up a FAQ page soon, but for now
we can answer some of the questions right here:
You can not use a road bike in this race. There are definitely singletracks and fire roads on the course that would prove very difficult on a road bike
While we welcome anyone you want to bring to the race, there will be no support crew for the teams while racing. You will be responsible for
carrying your own gear during the race. At one point, you will pass quite near a town with gas stations and the like.
There is not a central transition area, we will be transporting bikes and boats. For that reason, you will be able to stage some gear with your boats (pdf's, paddles, etc), as well as a resupply of water.
If you have anymore questions, please email us!

I know everyone loves race updates, and while the race itself is still far away, we've already begun plotting out the course. Right now, it looks like we're at about 30-40 miles of biking, and between 10-15 miles of paddling. This is still subject to change, and we haven't gotten all the trekking course down yet, but rest assured, it will be a lot of fun. We have a lot of fun areas to work with, that will definitely prove challenging to anyone. There is a canoe outfitter in the area that will be able to help out anyone that needs a boat for the race, and also to shuttle boats to and from the put-in.
Some photos of the area! Taken from the course (as it is now, as new opportunities for...adventure...arise, we're not at all averse to change).
