Carolina Skeptics Investigations:

One of the activities that Carolina Skeptics actively encourages is the investigation of paranormal and extraordinary claims. Sometimes claimants come to Carolina Skeptics with extraordinary claims. We also receive requests to perform preliminary tests on behalf of the James Randi Educational Foundation (JREF), which has a $1,000,000 prize for any demonstrated paranormal phenomenon. For such claims, Carolina Skeptics performs tests, which can only be passed by a performance where the probability of success due to chance is less than 1/1000.
