What books do I get a discount on? How big is the discount?
Any book from Prometheus Books can be ordered by members at a 40% discount. Shipping costs are extra, but are also discounted (the exact discount depends on the weight of the book). If you would like a list of books that you can order, TASC has catalogs you can borrow, or you can go to the website for Prometheus. Prometheus is the premier publisher of skeptical literature; they publish some excellent books.

I'm not a member, just on the mailing list. Can I take advantage of this offer?
This offer is available to members only. But if you are buying book(s) that total more than $37 in cost ($25 for students or seniors), it is cheaper to become a member and order books through us. So why not become a member today?

How do I go about ordering books?

Send a signed note to club president Eric Carlson with the name of the book(s) you want to order. His address is listed at right. If you want to inform him by email, that is fine, but it should be followed with a signed note. You can also give us orders at any Carolina Skeptics events. He will send the orders to Prometheus, and when the books come in he will inform you of the cost to you of the books. You can pick them up once they come in.

I don't live in Winston-Salem, how am I going to get my books?
Carolina Skeptics will hold your books until the next event. If it is impractical for you to come to Carolina Skeptics events, arrangements can be made to ship them to you directly. Contact Eric Carlson at ecarlson@wfu.edu or (336) 758-4994 for more details.

How long will I have to wait for the books?
We plan to order books every 1-2 months, depending on the rate at which members order them. Once ordered, they should come quickly, and you can pick them up whenever you want.
