The University itself has supported debate for as long as any university has. Their commitment is reflected in a budget that is among the more realistic in the country. In addition to the coaching support, Wake completely funds students' travel, paying for transportation, rooms, entry fees, and a per dium meal money while traveling. We have a exceptional squad area in Carswell Hall. We have our own photocopy machines, scanners, etc. and each student has their own university issued IBM Thinkpad. In addition to the main library, debaters enjoy full access to the law, medical, and business school libraries at Wake Forest. Of course, Wake's debate workshop, handbook, and hosted tournaments also reflect the University's support for debate.
