LEADERSHIP 2003
Working Group 8:
Come up with a sample Four Blocks report card (grades 1-3).

It was decided to show each of the Four Blocks.
Guided Reading and Self-Selected Reading were combined because much of what is taught during the guided reading block can only be assess as mastered during the self-selected reading block.
No rating or marking system was recommended. It was felt that this is a school or school district issue.
Reading level scores were included to show student growth.
The writing block section is the most incomplete. It was felt that many of the items included in this portion of the report card would need to reflect district curriculum and state assessment concerns.
Concerns about proper use of time during each block is not reflected in this section of the report card. It was felt that problems in this area reflect two concerns, motivation and behavior. Therefore, it was conclude to reflect any concerns in the behavioral and comments section of the report card.
