Wake Forest promotes having a solid and well-rounded education and it is my goal to give this type of education to my elementary students. Therefore, knowing content in diverse subject areas is paramount as a teacher. This requires a teacher to be a continuous learner, modeling the importance and excitement of being a lifelong learner for students. The Wake Forest Elementary Education Program has prepared me with many methods classes that have given me the skills and resources to teach a range of grade levels. I have created numerous lesson plans centering on the North Carolina Standard Course of Study which outlines content requirements for each grade level. These engaging lessons demonstrate appropriate and integrated content that is relevant to my students.
