Dear students and parents,

Thank you for visiting this site! I hope you find it convenient for staying up to date on everything related to World History. The Mission for this class is to understand the past in order to have a grasp on the future. To that end, we will strive to assure that each student does his or her individual best to gain knowledge and organize facts .

About me

I was born in Spruce Pine, NC, in 1988 the same year that the Summer Olympics were held in Seoul, South Korea, and when Australia celebrated its bicentennial. I graduated from Mitchell High School in 2006 and went on to attend Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC to graduate with a B.A. in History and a minor in Secondary Education.  While at Wake, I spent a semester abroad in Venice, Italy and travelled throughout all of Europe to places like Budapest, Vienna, Interlaken, Amsterdam, and all over the country of Italy itself. I have included some of my photos from these experiences so that I can share with my students and their families my personal experience of travelling throughout the world. My interests include hiking, yoga, kayaking, reading, genocide history, civil war history, finding new and interesting music, and laughing. I am very excited to be teaching 9th grade and to continue to learn and grow from all the experiences of teaching.
