The North Carolina Professional Teaching Standards explains that teachers lead in their classrooms, in the school, the teaching profession, they advocate for schools and students, and they demonstrate high ethical standards. As a leader both in the classroom and outside the classroom I plan on being the best role model that I can be. I have much experience with the role of a leader, I have been a captain for the women's track team for quite some time now and have been enrolled in the leadership academy. This has enabled me to take ownership in my classroom to further the education of my students. I plan on working with school adminstrators and the communinty to help me in my role as a leader. I also will take responsibility in my classroom and my students will have someone they can look up to.
