Teachers provide an environment in which each child has a positive, nurturing relationship with caring adults, embrace diversity in the school community and the world, treat students as individuals, adapt their teaching for the benefit of students with special needs, and work collaboratively with the families and significant adults in the lives of their students is explained by the North Carolina Teaching Standards. As a teacher, it is important to embrace all diverse populations in your community. I plan on incorporating all of the student's different culture backgrounds into my teaching. It is very interesting to me to become familar with different cultures around the world. This will help me engage all the students in my classroom to become knowledgeable about the diverse population we have in our country. I will also treat students as individuals, so no one student would feel neglected and will maintain the same high expectations for everyone. I also will get the families who did not have the greatest experience when they went to school. This will promote an understanding for parents to get involved with their children in their school.
