Sending Your Mail Headers
Requirements
This document presumes you're using a Wake Forest laptop
with a recent standard load.
Headers are useful to technicians because they show the machines that received a
message, along with message IDs that can be used to look up what each machine did
for a message.
If you use Mozilla
- Go to the message
- Click on the "View" Menu
- Click on the "Headers" Option
- Click on "Full". This should add some gibberish to the area where the "subject"
is normally shown.
- Click the "Forward" button
- Mail the message to the person who needs the headers
- Re-select "View -> Headers", and select "Normal". This should remove the gibberish
from your messages.
If you don't use Mozilla
Email me,
and I'll add directions for your email program.
