Teaching and Research

My areas of special interest include the philosophy of time, Kant, and early modern philosophy.

I have also taught and published on subjects in epistemology, medical ethics, information technology ethics, and political philosophy.

My current research concerns our awareness of time. I am looking at ways in which Kant's claims about the necessary conditions of coherent experience are applicable to contemporary disputes about the reality of temporal passage.

My regular teaching includes courses in the philosophy of time, early modern philosophy, Kant, and political philosophy.
