With the increasing use of Computer Aided Instruction (CAI) in teaching it is critical that teachers, administrators and software developers have up to date information about the impact of CAI in the educational environment. The FQAR assessment produc t provides a tool to gather this information in a timely and objective manner.

FQAR includes

  • Focus Group Information
  • Questionnaire Development & Data Collection Strategies
  • Analysis Strategies
  • Recommendation and Interpretation Strategies
  • FQAR is available in several modules

    FQAR Training Module

This includes a training seminar covering:

  • Recommendations for the Development of CAI
  • Prescriptive based on past data
  • Focus Group Administration Techniques
  • Questionnaire Development Techniques
  • Data Collection Strategies
  • Data Analysis Procedures
  • Discussion of Interpretations
  • Using the data to improve your CAI
  • FQAR Instrumentation Module

    This includes on-site service covering:

  • Two days of Focus Group Administration
  • Development of a final customized Instrument

    FQAR Assessment Module

This includes on-site full service evaluation with the production of a final report and recommendations

The advantage of FQAR lies in obtaining objective information that is customized to the needs of a specific community. The data suggests that students are positively oriented towards the implementation of Computer Aided Instruction (CAI). However, it is necessary to know how specific student bodies are oriented towards CAI.

    FQAR answers questions such as:

  • Do the students like to use computers in classes?
  • What happens when CAI is made a requirement?
  • What do the students like about a particular CAI?
  • What is the level of usage?
  • Do students get enough on-line help?
  • Are students apprehensive about computer usage?
  • What role does the Instructor play in the use of CAI?
  • What role does ergonomics play in CAI?
  • Is learning made easier by the use of CAI?
  • Where is CAI best applied?
  • What are the do's and dont's in implementing CAI
