In our world today, technology is continuously changing. As a result, the state of North Carolina has aligned its curriculum with specific standards in order to incorporate ever-changing technological innovations. These standards, known as the National Educational Technology Standards for Students (NETS*S), and the 21st Century Skills, will be an important part of my classroom structure, and students will be using technology to reinforce a number of different subject areas over the course of a school year. Through integrated activities, students will be able to develop their technological skills, and overtime, they will become technologically proficient. It is my role to promote creativity with respect to technology usage in the classroom, and to allow students to explore real-world issues. By providing a technology-rich curriculum, my students will be have the opportunity to investigate their individual curiosties, as well as work with other students and community members on collaborative assignments. Technology has the wonderful ability to enhance educational instruction, and it is my role as a teacher to teach students how to use different types of technology in an appropriate and ethical fashion.
