As an educator of the 21st century, it is my duty to prepare students for a globally competitive society. Not only will I work to communicate this vision to my students, but I will set goals to meet the needs of inidvidual students and my class as a whole. I believe it is important to use a variety of assessment techniques in order to evaluate student progress, and I will analyze such information to learn what can be done to improve both student achievement and the effectiveness of my teaching.

I will work hard at establishing a safe and orderly classroom environment; one that empowers students to collaborate and become lifelong learners. According to the North Carolina Professional Teaching Standards, it is expected that I uphold the Code of Ethics for North Carolina Educators and the Standards for Professional Conduct, and I will do so by being an honest and ethical leader both inside and out of the classroom.
