Guestbook entries:

Pete,

Congratulations on a well deserved 'change of status' after a great career at Wake.

You and I have shared some special moments over nearly 40 years. We have given a very large number of students the experience of a lifetime, either trudging through mud and holding down breakfast on a not so sympathetic sea and sharing in the catch of the day plus about 20 lbs of shrimp on joint course field trips to Mark Rose's great spot in Morehead City, to which we had to wade if the tide was too high(!), or on the epic journey to the Galapagos where about 50 Wake undergraduates had the unique opportunity to 'seize on the high seas' a young San Diego tuna-boat captain whom the Ecuadorians considered to be fishing illegally.

The Department also has enjoyed your yeoman's duty as the master chef of the Royal Pig who has been our guest of honor at the annual departmental picnic.

Now that you've been 'first penguin' on the recent retirement scene, you may have started something...

Best wishes to you and Ann.

Pete,
No welcome could have been warmer than that you gave me and my bees when I came to Wake Forest five years ago. I treasure the continuing opportunity to call you "colleague" as you move into this new phase of your career. Your love for biology inspires faculty and students alike!
Fondly,
Susan

Pete - thanks for always being supportive of the Tague Family. I hope you enjoy having a little more time to tend your gardens and your family. Susan

Pete, thanks for your 40 years of dedication to Wake Forest. I count myself lucky to have known you as a teacher and mentor, but more importantly, as a friend.

Best wishes always. We must still go to the fish market. May you enjoy your semi-retirement and stay happy.
