Don,
Thanks for all your support over my time at Calloway.

Sorry we never got to hit the links together, but that can still happen.

Congratulations Don!

I have always appreciated and respected your dedication to the teacher-scholar model. You have been at Wake during a time of great accomplishment due in large part to your leadership and efforts.

Thank you.

Congratulations on a long and distinguished academic career. You have been a great colleague, and a wonderful part of the Calloway School. Enjoy every minute of retirement ...... you've earned it.

Keep us up to date...I'm looking to reading your first novel.

Dr. Ewing,

Congrats on retirement! You were certainly one of the best professors that I had at Wake Forest - in terms of both teaching, and caring about professional and personal success of students. Your class was one of the most rewarding that I took in the Calloway School. I always appreciated that it rewarded hard work.

Your insights into higher education and "learning how to learn" will be deeply missed in the Calloway community.

Have fun and good luck with retirement!

Dear Don,

I must admit I was surprised to hear you were retiring. It just doesn't seem time yet. You are one of those ageless people with such a zest for everything, that we have to find another word for "retirement!" You've been warm and kind to me from the moment I got here - thank you. I knew I was missing some fun not having an office on the third floor!

Warmly,
Sherry
