President Emeritus Hearn dies at 71
|
President Emeritus Thomas K. Hearn Jr., who led Wake Forest from a regional liberal arts college to one of the nation's premier independent universities during his 22-year tenure, died Monday in Winston-Salem. A memorial service will be held on Friday at 3 p.m. in Wait Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Wake Forest University Brain Tumor Center of Excellence, Office of Development, Medical Center Boulevard, Winston-Salem, NC 27157-1021.

Freshmen move onto campus this week
 | About 1,200 freshmen are expected to arrive on campus this week. Move-in day is Thursday, but about 300 new students participating in band camp, the Pre-School Conference, the S.P.A.R.C community-service program and Outward Bound have already arrived.
