This book provides an in depth look at domestic violence. It provides information like chronology, biographical sketches of important individuals, and bibliographic listings for further research, organizations involved in the struggle, and basic facts and statistics. This is a necessary resource for any in depth study of domestic violence issues.

Domestic Violence and Child Abuse Sourcebook
Ref HV6626.2 D66 2000
This is a huge resource with tons of helpful information. It includes detailed descriptions, statistics and articles about issues related to all forms of abuse. This would be an excellent starting point on research on form of abuse—physical, sexual, verbal, parent-child, spousal or dating. The book also includes many lists of further references both organizations and written materials.

Contemporary Women’s Issues
This database covers women’s issues from 1992 to current with the option for the article in full text. It covers a variety of disciplines and pulls from 190 different countries. When you search you can do a basic keyword or author search but can also search by topic (i.e. abortion, welfare, etc) or by geographic region (i.e. Afghanistan). It was really simple to use and offered a proliferation of good articles.

Index to Legal Periodicals and Books
This database includes article citations to legal journals, yearbooks, institutes, bar association organs, law reviews, and government publications originating in the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. It includes all areas and topics related to the law including court cases and decisions. It is citation only.

LegalTrac
This database provides full text articles about anything related to the legal system including court case information, articles and reviews from specialty law and bar association journals and information about other legal matters (taxes, regulations, etc.)

LexisNexis Academic
This database provides the full text articles primarily for major newspapers around the world. It is easy to use and provides a lot of article choices. Most of its sources are newspapers not academic journals, however.

P.A.I.S./Public Affairs Information Service
This database provides article citations and abstracts (not full text) for articles, books, conference proceedings, government documents, book chapters, and statistical directories about public affairs.

PsycINFO
This offers citations and abstracts from a comprehensive coverage from articles, books, book chapters, journals, dissertations, and other sources related to the field of psychology from 45 countries.

Sociological Abstracts
This database provides citations and abstracts (not full text articles) to articles published in some 2300 journals in sociology, social welfare, and social policy, as well as other related topics in the social and behavioral sciences. It also includes citations to some books and many dissertations
