William McKee Evans is Professor Emeritus of History at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. His published works include Ballots and Fence Rails: Reconstruction on the Lower Cape Fear and To Die Game: The Story of the Lowry Band, Indian Guerrillas of Reconstruction.
