Comedian and writer Nick Adams ('95) has spent the past 14 years putting his communications degree to good use. He's worked behind the camera for ESPN, The Golf Channel, NBC News, Fox, TNT and in front of the camera for BET, Oxygen, The Travel Channel, and Current TV.
After moving to Los Angeles, he cut his teeth at the infamous Comedy Store on the Sunset Strip. He gradually became a mainstay of the LA comedy scene. He has performed his irreverent, insightful brand of stand-up comedy across the country and continues to make regular appearances in stalwart comedy clubs like The Improv and cutting edge rooms like Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre.
In 2006, his debut book Making Friends with Black People was published by Kensington. The collection of essays was hailedby Newsday as"hilarious" and USA Today as "a flip but frank take on pop culture and race relations." Nick has teamed with Mara Brock-Akil and Salim Akil, producers of the hit shows Girlfriends and The Game, to develop the book into a sitcom for NBC. He is currently working on a second, as yet untitled, book.
In "Socialist Nazi Kenyans" he will discuss the anti-Obama scare tactics and whether they are a signal of more stupidity to come or simply the last gasp of a desperate minority.
