Professor Penny Weiss

Professor Weiss will be the Visiting Associate Professor in Women’s and Gender Studies at WFU during the spring of 2008.  She is Associate Professor of Political Science at Purdue University, having received both her M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame. While at WFU, she will be teaching the WGS course on the History of Feminist Theory.

Penny Weiss’ fields of interest are political theory, judicial politics, and women’s studies, with special focus on the intersections of these fields: feminist theory and women and the law.  She has contributed articles to Political Theory, Polity, Hypatia, Educational Forum and Women in Politics.  She is currently working on the history of feminist theory.
