It's our 10th year, and we hope you'll enjoy it with us! The Wake Forest Irish Festival is a grand celebration of Irish culture — in poetry, music, dance, and food!

Justin Quinn Mary Siebert Glenn Siebert This evening promises to be a realcelebration of Irish poetry, with the remarkable poet Justin Quinn reading from his work. He will be joined by the traditional Celtic band Green Folk, and by the extraordinary singers Mary and Glenn Siebert, who will perform traditional Irish folk songs and some of their surprising American cowboy derivatives. We'll have plenty of brilliant! authentic Irish food and drink.
Additionally, we'll celebrate Wake Forest University Press's official North American launch of Michael Longley's Collected Poems, a most important book by this poet who has been called 'one of the finest lyric poets of our time,' a poet whom Nobel Prize-winning poet Seamus Heaney has called 'a keeper of the artistic estate, a custodian of griefs and wonders.'
Free and open to the public. Followed by a book-signing and reception with refreshments.

TUESDAY, MARCH 20, 7 p.m. PUB QUIZ RETURNS!! Our popular "pub quiz"--organized and run by poets Vona Groarke and Conor O'Callaghan--returns for another year. Just what is it? Just as it sounds: A pub quiz is a quiz held in a pub! It's very popular in Ireland, and often attracts people to pubs who might not usually go. It's a version of a trivia game, and our questions all involve the Irish. PRIZES to winners! At Finnigan's Wake pub, 620 North Trade Street, downtown Winston-Salem.
