Advisory: Mark Warner sound bites available from WFU commencement address

Broadcast-quality sound clips from former Virginia Gov. Mark Warner's May 15 commencement address at Wake Forest University will be available for radio stations to download and broadcast that afternoon. The ceremony begins today at 9 a.m.

The Wake Forest News Service will post the entire speech and selected sound clips from the speech on the News Service Web site, The clips will be in .mp3 format and will be available by noon.

Warner, a Democrat who served as Virginia's governor from 2002 to 2006, was featured March 12 on the cover of The New York Times Magazine, which described him as "the bright new star in the constellation of would-be candidates" for president of the United States.

He is scheduled to address approximately 1,580 undergraduate and graduate students and receive an honorary doctor of laws degree during the 9 a.m. outdoor ceremony on Wake Forest's Hearn Plaza (the Quad).
