April 17, 2006
In recognition of Holocaust Remembrance Day, students and members of the Wake Forest University community will read the names of the victims of the Holocaust at a 24-hour reading from 6 p.m. April 24 to 6 p.m. April 25.
The reading, which will be held in front of Wait Chapel, is free and open to the public.
The commemoration will begin with an opening ceremony by the Wake Forest Interfaith Council that will include prayers and readings from different faiths. A series of photographs and artwork will also be on display to serve as reminders of the atrocities suffered by victims of the Holocaust.
The event is sponsored by the Wake Forest Interfaith Council, the Wake Forest Jewish Student Organization (Hillel) and the Office of the Chaplain.
