Best-selling author Marsha Sinetar to discuss vocation at WFU

Marsha Sinetar, a pioneering educator and best-selling author, will discuss “The Heart of Vocation” at 3:30 p.m. Nov. 3 in Pugh Auditorium at Wake Forest University’s Benson University Center. The campus-wide address is free and open to the public.

Sinetar is the author of several books on the topic of vocation, including “Do What You Love, The Money Will Follow,” “To Build the Life You Want, Create the Work You Love,” and “Spiritual Intelligence.” Her talk will focus on the definitions of vocation and a meaningful life, as well as how individuals can determine their individual gifts and share them with others.

Sinetar, one of the country’s foremost advocates of mature spirituality, is the author of more than 15 books on the subject. Her works have been translated into several languages and are often used in college, corporate, counseling and pastoral settings.

In addition to her lecture, Sinetar will meet with small discussion groups across campus through the week of Nov. 1-7 to help students explore vocation and identify life purposes. Sinetar’s visit to Wake Forest is sponsored by the Pro Humanitate Center, the Office of Career Services and the Calloway School of Business and Accountancy.

The Pro Humanitate Center was created in 2002 to coordinate the activities of a grant from the Lilly Endowment. The center’s mission is to help students explore the influence that values, ideals, human service experiences and faith can have on their careers and lives.
